@orange thanks! Will the free version be enough for me you think?

Personally, I wouldn't go with a free theme for a commercial business. Basically, it would be enough. But for better options like Kadence Blocks Pro, Conversions, Pro Add-Ons, AMP..etc. it would be much better, especially for a new business.

Statistics show that the sales and user respect for the brand are also affected by the website speed & design as much as the product quality.

Don't pay for anything until you have spent a decent amount of time getting familiar with constructing sites in wordpress and using WooCommerce and have felt out the ecosystem of plugins properly. Then take your time to decide where to spend your money.

@DanH I have Lifetime Full Bundle. By the way, I've added some items to the requirement list above ;)

Like @d-healey said, first you can try free version, and also watch the review videos on YouTube and then decide.

That's up to you. I use a free theme from WooCommerce, which I've customised a bit. Most of the plugins I use are free too.

Could I host it on PCloud? I read somewhere on here that I could.... Perhaps @Lindon knows?

no hosting on pCloud - its a simple cloud storage service....

@d-healey thanks. So you can start a new store on WooCommerce - that's different to a Website right? i.e you need Wordpress (or similar) as well...

WooCommerce is a plugin for Wordpress. You can host a wordpress site with any standard web hosting service.

@Lindon Thanks will check them out. So you can have a static html website on PCloud using the public folder. But that's not much use here.

@DanH Pcloud is not for website hosting, it's just storage, like dropbox, or a harddrive.

Actually it looks like you're right, you can use it in a limited way for hosting web pages- but don't.

                                  @d-healey from their website:

                                  Hosting a static HTML website
To use pCloud as a hosting solution for your website, simply put HTML-formatted text files and linked graphics in the Public Folder (or in a sub-folder). Click Share and Copy Link on the main directory, where your site's resources are. This will copy the index' URL to the clipboard and you can preview your website.
Optionally, you can add your own Error 404 HTML page to the website. Otherwise, pCloud's default Error 404 page will be shown when content is not accessible.

this is really about as simple as it can get - and about as useful as it sounds....certainly no ecommerce solution

@orange trying to follow the first video - the guys just adds the kadence theme to his site. I have no option to do that - only installing the theme, for which I have to be a pro member. Is that right?

@DanH Woocommerce is great, but the learning curve is fairly steep and has a lot of really annoying quirks (we use it begrudgingly). I think a lot of devs use Shopify because everything is already set up. It's not as flexible as Woocommerce, but it's really quick and easy.

@DanH You probably found the solution elswhere but just in case :

Download the free theme from Kadence using the "add new" option in the theme page :

                                            4a8116b4-61dc-4d31-b19f-8f7cbaaf7ad2-image.png

                                            then "Upload theme" :

                                            e3b5908f-e144-4704-9cfd-1666d109b858-image.png

and load the ZIP file you've downloaded.
