Pan 100L or 100R only with UI?

Hey guys,
I'm having an issue controlling pan (balance) of the sampler with a UI slider. The UI knob moves as expected, but the sampler only pan 100% either way. Do I have a setting wrong??

Change the mode to linear and set the min to -1 and max to 1.

@Christoph-Hart The pan mode doesn't work as expected here.

@d-healey linear mode seems to work, but its range appears to be between center-100R. Nothing on the left side?

ahh... sometimes when I type in the property editor, my values don't stay. the -1 turned back into 0.
