Hr1 file larger than actual samples

maybe this will help?

@musictop yeah - ok then..

@Lindon Anything wrong with using standard compression then instead of Hr1?
-
@DanH It won't work with HISE's built in sample installer.

-- well you could but then you end up with a hise instrument that on first start up asks for the hr1 file - which your user wont have.... of course you can go down the custom installer path and build your own system to ask the user where they want the ch files placing - write them there and then write the correct config information into the file your instrument will look for - different spot on mac and windows... sounds like waaay too much can go wrong with that imho
-
@Lindon No need to write the config file manually, you can disable the popup that asks for the installer but leave the popup that asks for the sample location. Still need to manually handle the 16/24bit samples separately though.

What's standard compression? Zip? RAR? Both will be much bigger because they don't know about audio. FLAC is the best you can get.

@d-healey Thanks David, how do you disable the installer pop up?

@d-healey Thanks David, now that I understand the Hr1 compression process, I can get the file sizes right down, so will hapilly use the installer pop up...
