Audio input (weird question)
-
Is there a way to get audio input into hise? To be used as modulator or something else?
-
Might be possible with VST3, but it's not on my high priority list.

@Christoph-Hart got it!

Has this changed at all since then? I mean, the sound from any source could be taken into an instrument, like a live vocoder or something. That is quite a thing to exclude from this powerful environment, even though it´s for playback and sound source generation mostly.
But in the mean time, if not implemented or on a list, is there a JUCE way of just inputing it anyway? Like JACK or something? I am unfamiliar with the frameworks for that, but surely JUCE has audio input-output?

@andioak yep, sidechain is needed .
There is a hack here on the forum to add inputs.
From there you could possibly use a compressor reduction value as a follower and use that to control something. -
@lalalandsynth Mate, Where Is It?

Of course, you can´t make a compressor without that, or perhaps a mastering compressor in that case, but certainly not for mixing.
But: if a DAW, like Pro Tools, has input sidechain for all plugins built-in, then what? Does that not work in plugins made with HISE? I mean, if there is no input for audio in the actual plugin, that wouldn´t work no matter what the DAW had built-in. RIght?
