Update user presets on Mac?
-
How do you guys handle updating internal plugin presets? I'm using the presets system to handle articulation changes. I've recently tweaked some things, added some features and would like to update them for the users with a new update.
I think I can work with Innosetup to update the files on Windows, but any idea how to configure Whitebox Packages to write files to ~/Library/Application Support/ ? It seems like I can only access the Macintosh HD Library which seems to be a different folder.
Thanks!

@tomekslesicki I've been wondering about this too. Because you don't want to overwrite the old presets because your user might have made changes to them.

In my case the presets are totally behind-the-scenes, users don't have an access to the standard presets browser. I've just added some MPE features and I'd like to make sure that everyone gets the updated tables.

@tomekslesicki Maybe you could just delete the Factory Preset folder so it is rebuilt at first launch?
For packages, I never tried but this might be a good start:

@ustk Thanks, that's exactly what I need!

@tomekslesicki Cool ;)
Can someone test this package in order to check somebody else's directory, please?
TestUserDirectory.pkg.zipI Followed the procedure above
It should install this in theUsers/Library/Application Support

@ustk Works here, it installs here Users/MyName/Library/Application Support
