@sebastien Ok so AAX format plugins - yes first you have to get the SDK to build an SDK plug-in and as Dave points out you need to sign up to the Avid Developer program (its not too painful) - then you can compile your AAX plugin, but surprise surprise it wont run in any commercial version of ProTools . It will run in the "developer only" version but if you are releasing a commercial plug-in thats really not much use beyond testing it.

So how to get your AAX plugin to work in ProTools? Well you have to get your plug-in "signed" (so ProTools is prepared to load it) and you have to do this through the PACE tool set - so you also have to sign up with PACE - telling them you are an Avid Developer Program member - then they will send you the software (and process) to "sign" your plug-in.

Still think AAX is worth it?

@sebastien Mac uses AU format. You don't need to do anything special for this, the export process is the same as for VST and the AU SDK is part of the Mac OS (I think). But you have to export the plugin on a Mac.

@arminh Do specific DAWs use AU or do they all use AU?

@sebastien DLL is a windows file. On Mac is will be a .component I think. You can't use the Windows VST on a Mac you have to export it on the Mac.

@d-healey specific daws, Logic X use only au, Cubase use only vst, and some other Daws use both au and vst.

@d-healey it depends on the DAW, for example Logic support only AU but Studio One 4 work with AU and VST.

                        Windows VST ≠ Mac VST

                          Hello,
I have a question about the audio loop player.
is it possible to play more than one sample of a different pitch but keep the same time? a stretch of time? I hack pitch modulation but my sample never keeps the same speed. I would simply like to slip any sample and play with it without being distorted in the duration. it's possible? thank you

@sebastien I don't know anything about the audio loop player so I can't offer much advice here.

I would just add a time strech sampling button :)

@sebastien The issue isnt implementation its model. There are no really good publicly available models for time stretching - so it would either mean licensing(thus adding costs to every HISE implementaiton) or a LOT of research and development...

Rubberband, while not as good as something like zplane, is very good and offers both a free and proprietary license. So this fits in with HISE's licensing quite nicely. I think it's just a question of waiting for Christoph to have the time to implement it.
