Is there a setting to disable the grid on the interface designer window while in edit mode?

No, but you can move controls around with the canvas locked, you can also view the interface preview while moving controls on the canvas.

@d-healey No worries. The reason I wanted it was because I have a custom EQ grid graphic made for behind the draggable EQ. As the draggable EQ already has a grid on it, trying to match the 2 up so that they are perfectly aligned when the canvas grid is on is a bit of a task.

It would be a nice feature to be able to switch the grid on and off if needed. It's cool to have the guide there most of the time but in situations like this one, it just made the job more difficult.

Hack of the day: If you press F4 to toggle the modes the selection stays active so you can jiggle your UI elements around using the arrow keys.
