Midi Out Channel

Does anyone have an example of routing midi from the midi player to a specific midi out channel?
Hardcoded modules like MIDI Channel Setter or setting Message.setChannel result in notes stuck on.
Also is the Midi Player buggy in general.. it stops playing notes + doesnt update its UI when switching midi Tracks.
Here because i've been at it for 2 days trying to get midi out on different channels, exhausted :/
