In my project, (an accordion sample library), to change registers I have it setup with loadsampleMaps, however playing a real accordion I can freely change registers while playing notes and it will change directly to the new register.
So my setup with loadSampleMap is not so well planned...hehe...
So I thought I should have a sampler for each register but, every register is about 500mb and the accordion have 5 registers on the treble side and 6 on the bass side, that will be around 500 x 11 = 5.5GB loaded all the time, will that be a problem you think?

@ulrik I am not 100% sure, but it doesn't seem to be a good idea to change samplemaps while playing anyway...

In your file size calculation, do you take into consideration the HLAC compression format of Hise?

Can't help pressing F5 in the forum...

@ustk No, I didn't think of that, I see now that it will decrease the size a lot, I guess half the size so it will be around 2-2,5gb, that doesn't sound so much but I wonder if it will affect the performance of the plugin, what do you think?

@d-healey Yes of course, haha...why didn't I think of that, I guess Hise will take care of that automatically, or is there some preferences I have change?

No if there is ine core feature of HISE‘s sampler module then it‘s efficient disk streaming so you should be OK with this amount of samples.

But definitely don‘t try to load samplemaps during playback - it is not supposed to be a real time operation.
