Hello, I am new to Hise and just learning but I have some specific plugins I want to construct. With Microsoft delivering their Midi 2 implementation in the os later this year and I’m not sure but apple already offers it or soon will. Daw manufacturers will soon follow. Juce has no implementation of Midi 2 but probably will at some point, sooner than later. I know Hise mainly works off of older versions of Juce(I’ve not been able to build Hise projects with the newest Juce(Mac). Will Hise roll its own integration with Midi 2 or will it adjust to the newest Juce releases when Midi 2 is available. Just curious.

I’m gathering nobody here cares about Midi2, the industry adaptation is coming very soon so it will have to be dealt with at some point, plus it’s really cool.

@jdurnil once it's there, it's there, but currently I am not planning to upgrade to JUCE 8 in the foreseeable future because of issues with their new licensing model.

I’m wondering if that will affect the viability of the plugins we produce with HISE in the very near future, will daw manufacturers who adopt the new protocol have backwards midi 1.0 compatibility. Probably so, I’m really looking forward to some of Midi 2 features I really hope this licensing can be worked out.

Absolutely, otherwise the last 30 years of plugins won't function.
