Streaming mode

Anyone know what this actually does? It's in the floating tile - settings. There's 2 options - Slow - HDD and Fast - SSD but not sure what does does behind the scenes? Can't find anything inside the docs.

its sets the pre-load amount so for disk streaming it accounts(partly) for the speed of your disk.
