Note release?

@d-healey just tested and it doesnt happen at all when i play with a midi keyboard or a midi player module in a vst or standalone versions.

it only happens when i play a midi loop through my daw with the vst version

What about playing the loop through your plugin with only a sine-wave gen preset, no sampler?

@d-healey its not isolated to a specific midi but it does seem to be C and F that it happens with. it doesnt happen with any other plugins and yes it does still happen when i power off the sampler and leave the sine wave generator on. just tested.

@d-healey im happy to share a loop haha but as i said it isnt isolated to the loop. ive tested many that i know work well and theyre all having the same issue. i believe its the sine wave generator at this point.

So does it happen if you remove the sine wave gen and only have the sampler?

@d-healey yes it is now happening with the sine wave generator removed from the original project, sampler only. just tested.

maybe this is something with the most recent master build? @Christoph-Hart

• i would leave it to @Christoph-Hart to make that call but because our projects are surely very different but the same issue occurs it may be this.

There's something special in your project - there could very well be. im a noob coder and im sure it looks like a disaster zone

There is something special in the MIDI loop you're testing with. - nah its an old one, used a million times. it also happens with a dozen others.

There's something special in the DAW you're using. - its fl studio.. everyones favorite lol. the majority of people thatll use my plugin use it shrug

I just played your loop back through one of my instruments in qtractor and had no issue. Do I have to do anything to trigger the problem or just hit play?

haha does bitwig count? i have that installed as soon as i can remember how to use it..

@d-healey okay ive tested both my current project (with sampler and sine wave gen) and the project with only the sine wave gen in reaper and (im sure to your surprise lol) there were no issues. i had no problems with note release on either vst. what gives?

@Adam_G I am having this issue on FL studio too.

I know FL is special and has issue others DAW's don't, but there are other VSTs that I know are built in Hise such as the NewNation ones that don't seem to have this issue.

This is true with the dropped notes when using certain MIDIs too which I believe may be a related issue.

There must be a way around it but I am struggling to find it
