      I'm working on an instrument that will have lots of user selectable sample maps, potentially 500+.

      I could use a combobox, but with so many options this would have users scrolling off screen, and seems inelegant.

      My other thought was to use a slider linked to a "screen" that displays the name of the sample map.. the downside to this being finding a specific waveform is tricky..

      How would you guys approach this from a design point of view?

        You will need a panel and some paint routines to draw your boxes and names - and a mouse callback to handle selection. Drop the panel into a ViewPort to get it sliding
