Solved Windows Code Signing Certificate
-
I know that I need to Sign my Application by a trusted authority in order for Windows to not complain about it. I was wondering what the majority of HISE users are using for this? Especially given the options of so many available certificates I am really unsure which one I should go for?
Thanks in advance!

The majority of us aren't bothering to do it. It seems like a scam from I've read.

@d-healey i have exactly the same feeling about this. I've found some sites that offer the cert cheaper than the usual 500$ a year however all of these signing sites give off a weird vibe.

@oskarsh Iโve only ever had one user complain about not having a certificate. I donโt think most devs do. Avoid

@DanH thanks I will leave it out and see how many users complain

No one will
Just put how to handle that "Windows Defender Blue Screen Warning" during the installation to the product manual, then you're good to go.

@oskarsh even if you want cert like this you need be company and get a lot government papers, so if you are sole proprietor you can't sign your code.
