OKay so all going well so far... now on to making AAX compiles work...

      So questions:

      1. Is there even a version of AAX for M1 yet?
      2. If so, is there a specific version of the SDK I need to use? (I have SDK_2.3.2 at the moment)
      3. If I recall(and it was a long time since I did this) I need to compile some parts of the SDK , can anyone recall the steps to getting the SDK to work?

Well reading the documentation mighthelp..so answer to part 3:

      Go to

      SDK_/Libs/AAXLibrary/MacBuild/

and there should be an Xcode project there called:

      AAXLibrary.xcodeproj

Load that into XCode and compile....now only parts 1 and 2 to answer....

As far as I can tell AAX is not M1 compatible yet.

Ok so what makes you think that?

Here's the Avid press release for ProTools

Pro Tools adds support for HDX, HD Native, and AVE on M1 Macs
With the October 2021 release, you can now run Pro Tools | HDX and HD Native systems as well as the Avid Video Engine on the latest Macs that use Apple’s new M1 silicon processors.

          So ProTools is M1 native...

However you may be right as this in one of the forums:

Last time I checked, the current AAX SDK was not building for the arm64 target platform and would have required manual patches. Avid has not released a new SDK version, but at least they are listening Pro Tools as being supported now. I will check, if the SDK compiles on the latest Xcode version at some point and if it does, provide AAX AG builds for M1s.

@Lindon just got an email from Avid. The AAX SDK for M1 will be released soon.
