Project with large number of samples causing dropouts and is unstable
-
Hey All,
I am working on a project with 1000s of samples and am running into quite a lot of stability and cpu problems. Is there a way of optimizing Hise for big projects? I am trying to move away from Kontakt to Hise but would love to know a bit more about how it handles these much larger sample sets. Is there something I am missing that would allow me to run these projects much more smoothly?
Thanks in advance

@afinch I don't think your sample count is the problem. 1000s of samples is fine in HISE. The problem is probably somewhere else.

@d-healey Yeah so digging a bit deeper the convolution Reverb was somehow interfering so have sorted that now. The CPU seems to still be going into +100% (didn't know that was possible!) the next thing I thought about was voice limits. I had a look in the 'Sampler Settings' and 'Amount' and 'Soft Limit' are set to 256 so I tried changing those. But whenever I press a key the values just seem to jump back to 256 is this the correct way to change voice limits, if so why are they jumping back?

@afinch Those limits don't change unless you have something in your script that changes them.

Are you using a debug build? And whats the voice count when you hit the 100%?
