@Lindon I had a bunch of silly permissions things recently with Packages. I had to check the "keep owner and group" box to fix it. It lists my computer as the owner and "staff" as group, which I though was strange, but it changes to the end user's account when they install.

oh ok , cool thanks mate I will try this too...
-
@Lindon …secret in that you have to just "know about it", since it's not listed anywhere on their website.

@clevername27 Oh gosh, I just saw this. I didn't mean to blow off your question. I may have noped out of HISE at that point. In any case, he's got a new version of Packages that specifically supports audio plugins (plus whatever is in HISE these days).

Who's he?
-
@David-Healey Seth Willits, Araelium Group
-
@clevername27 ah ok, what's the benefit over whitebox packages?
-
@David-Healey It works (no bugs), and thanks to your truly, it has built-in support for installing audio plugins.,
-
@clevername27 is that a new addition? I bought it when it was first released but found I couldn't do some of the things I was doing in Whitebox and haven't tried it again since
-
@DanH Yes, it is a brand new addition.
-
@clevername27 ah cool, I'll give it another go

Can you elaborate?

Ok well I'm assuming we are talking about Package Builder here... its not clear above but heres the URL: https://www.araelium.com/packagebuilder
So my "...support for installing audio plugins" question is:
Can I point the destination at the system folder for plugins? i.e
~/Library/Audio/Plugins
and not the ~/users//Library version of this path?
..and get it to ask the user for the relevant password when they run it. In other words avoiding all those silly Mac permissions problems...

~/Library/Audio/Plugins
That's the default with WhiteBox.
