AAX dosen't recognized in Pro tools 2018
-
The digitally signatured AAX plugin works in Pro Tools 10; but not recognized in Pro Tools 2018 (macOS High Sierra)
What are the potential causes? @Christoph-Hart @d-healey
-
Is it AAX 64? ProTools 2018 does only 64 Bit AAX.
-
@bastiaan AAX plugins are directly exported on HISE, as well asau and vst plugins.
So, I don't know HISE exports which version (32 or 64). but I think it's 64 -
As I said a few times: ask Avid's support. They make it impossible to debug a plugin so I have no intentions trying to work around this limitation.
HISE still exports both 32bit and 64bit and if this is a problem for the newest Protools version, just delete the 32bit binary inside the .aaxplugin package.

@christoph-hart Actually I've learned that the tester cant't use vst, au and aax. All of them! (in macOS High Sierra)
It's so weird. normally vst and au works perfectly. I think it's not only about the Pro Tools.
Maybe macOS High Sierra has something???

I am running High Sierra without issues. And I would get flooded with support requests if this would be a general High Sierra issue.
-
HISE made plugins works perfectly on High Sierra.
If the tester couldn't work with all versions, it's about High Sierra's general problem. To solve this issue,
- Find the “com.apple.audiounits.cache” file in “user/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/com.apple.audiounits.cache“
- Delete “com.apple.audiounits.cache“
- Restart your computer
- Open the DAW (Logic, Pro Tools…etc) The DAW will now rescan all your plugins and you should be set ;)

@Christoph-Hart @remarkablex Yes it worked! Thank you so much. High Sierra and Mojave are like a pain in the a..ss.
Very problematic.. but it's abut cache cleaning.... -
Everything gets worse all the time ;)
