Help getting plugin to load in FL Studio
-
New to HISE here...
I have exported my plugin as a .vst3 along with the .dll, but my plugin won't be located by FL Studio unless I turn off plugin verification. When I do try to open it, I get the following error message:
"There was a problem opening the plugin for an unknown reason. Please make sure it was installed correctly."
Plugin is a sampler with bass oneshots + some fx knobs, if that helps
Help?

@graysan Have you tested loading the .vst in another DAW?
-
@Simon its not even showing as being available to open in ableton and reaper has a similar issue to fl studio, showing but won't run the plugin
-
Alright so it's a problem with the export, not FL specifically.
Have you tried exporting a blank project? What OS are you on? Did you have any trouble compiling HISE itself?

@Simon I tried exporting a basic saturator plugin which loaded up in fl studio as a .dll but did not saturate the input at all. Still troubleshooting getting something to work lol.
I'm on Windows 11 and I had brief issues with some ASIO associated files but after redownloading the HISE source code everything compiled just fine.
Thanks for the help, I'm a producer and engineer not a computer programmer still learning

@Lindon i did have a name but not a code, tried this and the plugin still failed

@graysan said in Help getting plugin to load in FL Studio:
as a .dll
You should use VST3 instead of VST.
Did you export it as an effect plugin?
What does PluginVal say?

@d-healey PluginVal told me ALL TESTS PASSED @ Strictness 10 on my .vst3, however the pop-up of my plugin told me to install the samples from the downloaded archive. So I'm assuming there's some issue with my sample organization, but that still doesn't tell me why it won't boot/locate in FL

@graysan well if its asking for the sample location then its not an FX plugin...
