Knob range 1000 - 5 - doable?

Is there a way to get a knob on the UI to show a range of 1000 - 5? The issue is with delay. The Hise tempo sync control goes from slower rates to faster rates. But in free mode the control will go fast to slow. I don't want to rebuild the Hise source code so does anyone know how to force a slider to have a min value greater than it's max value?
