VMware or Proxmox for compiling?
-
I'm curious to see which one is used more by the forum user in general or if it's even recommended?
I saw that @d-healey talk about Proxmox a couple of time but didn't saw VMware mentionned anywhere.
Feel free to share other alternatives too!
(I'm on windows trying to Compile for Macos if that makes a difference)

@Gab Proxmox is a whole operating system so you need a dedicated compute/server for it. I've used virtual box and gnome boxes in the past for compiling so go with the solution that is most convenient for you.

Any Type 1 Hypervisor will work well.

@Gab If you want to install on the operating system you are currently using and do not want to dedicate a separate computer, you can use VirtualBox or Parallels (Type 2 Hypervisor).
But if you are going to dedicate a computer, a Type 1 Hypervisor like Proxmox will also do the job.
