      Hello,

i exported a AU fx plugin on my MACOS Monterey - HISE Master 3.6.2 - I copied the component and the .a file to the plugins component folder on my MAC and no issues my DAWs all see the plugin. I sent these 2 files to someone to test and on their MAC, when they attempt to unzip the archive they get an error that they can not unzip they .a file. they can get the .component file. i did change the .a file security to everyone can read and write, but they are still unable to unzip. I have tried we transfer and google drive links, which zip the download. Is this a common thing on MAC, I am concerned with users of the plugin not being able to unzip a plugin. Thank you for your thoughts on this.

      Will

So the plugin is just stock fx modules and some hardcoded fx. So they only need the component file, but it is not showing in their DAW after rescan and restart. If it shows on my MAC is it safe to assume its there DAW not recognize. We are using Ableton 11

@WaterSpoon maybe it needs to be codesigned and notarized

for those curious. on windows copying and paste files creates a full copy. on my mac at least it was just making a shortcut. to the original file. And i was only sending a shortcut of the component.

@WaterSpoon If the file is a shortcut it will copy another shortcut. Otherwise copy & paste works in the same way as other OS.

You can right click on a shortcut and select "Show Original" to reveal the actual file.

Perfect, Yes that was it!! That's what i was able to discover and correct to fix the issue!!! I was just grabbing the wrong file. Simple mistake, huge impact.
