Response gets slower and slower with every synth module added/ deleted
-
When adding and removing various components in the sampler window (Containers, samplers, modules etc.) it starts very snappy. But, with every action performed, the consequent action gets a little delayed to the point that it can take 45 seconds for a module to be added or removed from the project.
Restarting HISE makes everything snappy again, so it has nothing to do with the number of components present. I am having to restart HISE several times in the same project to cut on this delay.
@Christoph-Hart, it would be great to maintain the snappiness of the response without having to restart HISE.

I'm noticing the same thing here when a project is open for a while. It becomes sluggish and changing presets could take up to 10 seconds. Restarting HISE temporarily cures this for me as well.

What does the memory usage in task manager look like when it gets sluggish?
-
@d-healey, I'll check, but it shouldn't matter, considering I have 128GB at my disposal.
-
@gorangrooves I'm wondering if there is a memory leak
-
@d-healey When I open my project, HISE starts with 838MB of memory usage. After adding and removing a handful of samplers, the memory jumps to 15.5GB.
-
@d-healey Adding only 15 Simple Gain modules brings the HISE memory consumption to a whopping 25.8GB!
This must be something to do with the memory, right? -
@gorangrooves Yup, I thought it might be memory leak.
-
@d-healey what are the implications of this for compiled plugins? Is this only something that is of concern for working in the HISE IDE?
-
@TNTHM No idea. It's one for Christoph
