I have the Use Global App Data Folder flag enabled for the MacOS version of my plugin but it hangs when i attempt to choose the Samples folder. The LinkOSX file does not get written and the plugin stays at Choose Sample Folder screen. Is there anything else that needs to be done to use this folder instead of the User directory?

@Adam_G The same thing happened to me a few months ago. You have to create the directory manually: Application Support/Your Brand/Your Plugin, and then, the plugin can create the LinkOSX file. I think is something related to permissions.

For the user, you can create it by making those directories in Packages, like this:

What's the advantage in using the global folder?

@d-healey I like to use it for placing the AudioResources.dat file (with packages) when using convolution reverb. And now I use it as a standard in all my plugins to generate consistency in the installed files.

@d-healey Because Packages doesn't allow to install files in user app data folder

@bendurso Aha ok, that makes sense. Any downsides?

@d-healey For me the only thing different was having to create those two folders manually. Everything else works the same.
