Has somebody experience with using the Audio Plugin Player to test AU builds?
I would like to test AU versions of my plugins but I don't own any application that supports AU. Audio Plugin Player seems to be a light weight solution to this.

        Auval - https://www.unix.com/man-page/osx/1/auval/

You could also use the free trial of Logic.

Reaper can also load AU plugins.

@Frankbeat I don't think it's a good choice to use it, it's not developed any more since 2017

... Oh I forgot: A Mac usually has GarageBand installed – which of course, can load AUs 😊

I‘m using the JUCE plugin host as minimal test host - it‘s part of the JUCE codebase and as a HISE power user you should be able to compile stuff.
