Wavetable Synth - No Sound After VST Export
-
Hi everyone,
I would like to ask for some support with Wavetable Synth.
I created my own wavetables with WaveEdit, converted them into a .hwt file with Sampler, and started to use them in HISE. They work like a charm and sound amazing. However, as soon as I export a VST, and open up the instrument in my DAW, the Wavetable is completely silent.
I have a Sampler and a Waveform Generator in the same project, and they both work fine. I have all the samples and the .hwt file in the same folder, so I am wondering if the Sampler can find the used samples, why the Wavetable can not locate the file? Maybe there is a different issue here that I am not aware of?
I searched through the forum, but I could not find the right answer, so your support would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

@gabor-OK so you compiled plugin does NOT use the same folder/directory structure as your project files....so you will have to manually copy your .hwt files to the place where your plugin can find them, the "AppDat" folder structure - have you done that?
Your Waveform generator works because its building the sounds on the fly - its a synth
The Sampler works because when you first open your plugin it asks you for the hr1 file and where you want to keep the samples (so its doing this install work for you with samples - but not hwt files...) -
Hi @Lindon,
Thanks for your quick reply!
Ah, I thought the .hwt file should be in the same folder where I installed the files for the Sampler. All clear now.
My only question is where is this "AppDat" folder located? I'm on Windows. -
@gabor-k C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming
Just type %appdata% in Run

Full Path to install .hwt file is
C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming<vendorname><pluginSynthname>\AudioFiles
