On OSX where does HISE extract the presets to? On Windows it's the AppData/roaming folder.
-
@d-healey can't tell!! It's just one default preset involved. So it just loads that one by default
After first run Plug-in and app preferences are stored on /Library/Application Support/your_brand/plugin_name/
And some DAWs like GarageBand stores plugin data on /Library/Preferences and /Library/caches/ as far as I can remember
-
By default the user files will get extracted to ~/Music/Company/Product
Don‘t asky why but it is the only folder that sandboxed hosts (Garageband and maybe Logic sometime in the future) have access to.
If you don‘t care about sandboxed hosts, set ENABLE_APPLE_SANDBOX to 0 and it will use the default user application support folder.

Hi guys,
I've uploaded the installers (Mac and Windows build by Christoph) to github - https://github.com/davidhealey/librewave_woodwinds/releases/tag/1.0.2 - no samples.
I'm putting together an installation guide (which you can share with your customers too) and I need screenshots of the installation process on Mac and Windows. If you have time could you run the installer for your OS and take screenshots of each stage and let me know any important steps that need further explanation?
Thanks.

@d-healey Everything works! Installer, App and Plugins VST and AU. Got a lot of screenshots but can't upload a .zip here. Want to email them?

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who provided information for this. Here is the installation guide I've written for my HISE software. It's licensed as CC-BY-SA so please adapt it as needed for your own use. Let me know if you think I missed anything important, spot any typos, or think something isn't explained as clearly as it could be.

I made you a PDF file in case you want to include it in your package, and you can write some useful information about your product, what each buttons/knobs/slider does and how to use it.
-
@jay Thank you for the kind offer, however I don't include PDFs with my products for a few reasons:
- Marketing (the more selfish reason): by making the user visit the website to read the user guide I am reminding them that the website exists and while they are there they may check out other products.
- I like to include multi-media (videos, gifs, audio) in my user guides which don't translate well to PDF.
- I often make small changes to my user guides when I update the software or even if I just notice a typo or something isn't worded as well as it could be, this renders any PDFs of the user guide redundant.
