@DanH Depending on the complexity of the design you might get a better result by tracing it manually - or hire someone on Fiverr to do it.

@DanH If you use the logo without bg but still have issues, try making whole logo as a compound path before exporting svg.

@lalalandsynth Which software are you usign for designing svg? In Illustrator, you need to convert all of the paths as an unified compound path. If you don't...

@d-healey It comes out fine, it's just the background that's there. I'm not sure why. Might ask @orange to make it for me instead 😆

@orange I can't get the fuzzy tool in Gimp to select the logo, no idea why it won't work. If you're up for helping I will happily send it to you!!

If you're trying to manipulate the SVG in GIMP you probably won't get very far, GIMP is for raster although it does have some SVG uses.

Select the Logo , and then Hit Ctrl + 8, it'll Make the SVG Art Into 1 Path.
Or Use Pathfinder Window, and Then use thr tools to make the SVG into 1 Shape, and 1 Path.

This will shorten your Svg code Too.

@DanH This is what I do in Adobe Illustrator:

Expand > Unite Paths > Make Compound Path > SVG Export to Projucer or Hise SVG Converter
