Problems Installing HISE on mac
-
Hi,
super new to all of this with very little coding experience but super interested to get going and get learning... But I'm a bit stuck at the first hurdle which is just installing the thing!
So I was attempting to follow David Healeys guide on installing Hise on youtube. But when i tried to open projuicer it says its broken... after a quick google I found a post saying i need to recompile it from the source code and then it will work...
Issue is i have no idea how to do that or what to google to put me on the right track!
I've installed Xcode and the intel thing (is it IPP?)
Thanks for all your help super excited to get cracking with Hise and im sure ill be back with more questions once i get going and have watched more of davids videos ...
Mac Specs - M1 Max 64 Gb Ram Monterey 12.6

You don't need to compile Projucer. You just need to give the one that comes with HISE the correct permissions to run on your system. See this post.
You don't need IPP on MacOS (and I don't think it works on M1).
Use Xcode 13.1.

@crubbish - first step - you dont need or use IPP on MacOS...
-- whihc version of HISE are you trying to build Develop or Master?
-
Ive done the terminal thing. I still get this message
-
the latest master off github? (I think...)
-
@crubbish Master is very old - you need to be using develop
-
Brilliant Thankyou thats opening now i downloaded the develop version.
Ill see if I can get it going now!

Ok so now Xcode seems to be getting suck...
As per davids youtube video I installed a debug version by mistake which worked fine. But when trying to install the release version (Profiling setting in xcode) its getting stuck and not finishing...
Thanks again!

This is a general Projucer warning, probably you'll get it on every time you try to compile Hise. The solution is simple :)
