@BWSounds What do you want to reverse?
-
@d-healey
incoming midi? -
@BWSounds What do you mean by reverse?
-
@d-healey
the sound coming from the incoming midi. -
@BWSounds I don't understand, MIDI doesn't have sound. Can you explain in more detail what you want the effect to do?
-
@d-healey
I want to be able to create a fx plugin where one of the fx is the ability to reverse sounds.
humm... Like a compressor plugin compresses the sound, I want a reverse fx to reverse sounds.you get it?
-
@BWSounds How can you reverse a sound in real time? To reverse a sound you have to start at the end of the audio, no? Would you buffer a part of the audio and reverse that, then buffer another part, etc.?
-
@d-healey I think he means something like initial audios reverse plugin its a one knob plugin that reverses the audio out i believe
-
@whereami518 Sounds interesting, I'll check it out.
-
@d-healey It's not in realtime, that would be impossible
The developer answer that question with:
Only works when you press play in your host. So this is not a real time effect. Because real-time is not even possible. We cannot know the future before it happens so real-time reverse is not possible. So the rule is this, we can only reverse the amount of audio that currently has been played or recorded. If you set the reverse to one bar, then one bar of audio needs to have been playing or recorded before we can reverse it for one bar. Hope this helps.

@ulrik Thanks, so it is a buffering system as I thought. Might be possible in HISE using SNEX.
-
@ulrik nicely put.
after doing more research and messing with gross beat I feel for me, its not needed...Another question if possible.
Can you use the arpeggiator on a fx plugin?
Or will it have to be a midi fx plugin? I searched the forum but got mixed answer.
