I am testing the parametric Eq example in Reaper and I am not getting any sound through the hise plugin ?
*Correction for clarity , it passes audio but has no effect .
I have not compiled it , just running it in the HISE host .

I get this message when it loops.
ParametriqEq:! Illegal call in audio thread detected:
      HeapBlock free

What am I doing wrong and how can I get the examples to pass audio ?

      Thanks for your time .

How can I make a snippet "window" and not have such a huge post ?

P:S Also loading the basic synth crashes Reaper.

                @ulrik Thanks!

I am doing some testing and I am not getting any sound through any of the examples in Reaper.

@lalalandsynth the snippet works fine here in the standalone version, try to compile it as FX Plugin and load the plugin in Reaper, maybe the plugin version of Hise is not working as it should?

@lalalandsynth I tried your snippet in Hise plugin and it works as it should
What is your Hise compiled version?

Build version 650 - Downloaded latest version yesterday .

Not getting any sound through the standalone either , unless I am doing something wrong ?!! *Correction for clarity , it passes audio but has no effect .

These are my settings, I am assuming it will accept input on channels 1-2 since I can not set the input channels.
                      stand.jpg
I have audio coming into channels 1-2 , So i should have input ?

I might add that a sampler works in Reaper and standalone, it seems I am only having problems with inputs ?

@lalalandsynth It seems that you've downloaded from the Hise webpage instead of compiling from source code...
If I'm right, no need to investigate further ;)

@ustk I see, So I need to compile rather then use the downloadable version ?
Why is that , is the downloadable version not the latest version ?

                          1. How do I compile or can you point me to a tutorial for that ? EDIT: Found it ...:)
                          2. When I compile will that overwrite this version so I dont have two versions ?

@lalalandsynth You definitely need to compile the scripnode branch version
                            https://github.com/christophhart/HISE/tree/scriptnode

The downloadable version is waaaayyyyy beyond the actual one.... So beyond that we can't call it Hise anymore 🙃

The documentation contains almost everything you need
                            https://docs.hise.audio/introduction/installation.html#compile-the-latest-hise

@d-healey Has some great videos on the topic (and many more) on youtube and essentially on his Patreon page for all platforms

Get rid of your actual version, you'll never use it anyway...

Do I then Point the Compiler setting to this scriptnode folder rather then the master ?

I guess my question is , do i ignore the master ?

Also I am on Win , what IDE do you recommend ? EDIT : Installing VS 2019.

Question : What components do i need to install that it offers in the install....so much stuff there ?

The branches on GitHub represent different development versions. If you click on the "Branches" button that lists all branches you can see which is the most recent by looking at the dates of the last update.

I have tutorials on YouTube for compiling HISE and also about using Git.

@d-healey Thanks , looking at your win build video , you suggest using VS 2017 , is it ok to use 2019 ?

@d-healey Thanks so much , built standalone and vst .

Still not getting any audio through the HISE VST. ? *Correction for clarity , it passes audio but has no effect .

Using the example Convolution Reverb , get no audio , Illegal call when it loops and when I play the keyboard .

Here is what happens , illegal call on loop and no audio. *Correction for clarity , it passes audio but has no effect .
Built the latest version , using as vst.
Dont know if some setting in Reaper could cause this ?
Standalone does not seem to process audio either.

Could it be some sort or routing issue , input routed straight to output ?

EDIT: So I noticed that I exported as VSTi , now that is not going to work but could that be related to why it does not work in the HISE host ? That its acting as an VSTi when I load any of the examples ? Although that would not explain why it does not process as standalone.
Exporting Con verb as VST fx and testing again.

                                          no audio.gif

UPDATE ! When I export as VST FX , it works !
However , still at the point where I get no processed audio from the HISE host , neither in Standalone or VST Host.
