macOS Golden Gate! Compatibility Issues?
-
Hey everyone,
I’ve noticed that with the new macOS release, Apple seems to be getting stricter again with compatibility and security issues.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
My installers are currently not code-signed/notarized. Could that be the reason for the new warnings or compatibility problems? Has Apple started enforcing this more aggressively with the latest macOS?
Would love to hear if anyone else is running into the same thing!
-
Also, is anyone here running macOS Golden Gate who could test one of my installers for me? I’d really appreciate it!
-
@ILIAM I've got a clean Golden Gate 27.0 on an external drive I can test on. Seems me a link.

Get an Apple Developer account for $99/year. The process of code-signing and notarising is simple.
Installers work on your own machine because it's your machine. As soon as you use the installers on another machine, the gatekeeper kicks in.
It matters how you transfer files to your test machines. If you move stuff by USB stick, it doesn't get the 'scary downloaded from the internet' flag, and gatekeeper is more relaxed.
To test installers on another machine, they have to be downloaded from the internet, to simulate what a real end user would do.

Danny, hey
Just Paid and after 24 hours it still showing me PENDING!
Apple doing apple things again!!!How long this supposed to take!?
-
@ILIAM Mine went through immediately.
I guess if you're in a non-US/CA/UK/EU country, or you used an unusual payment method, it could take longer.
Just checked, and I received all the following emails within 10 minutes of signing up:
- Agreement signed: Apple Developer Agreement
- Your order is being processed - Apple Developer Program - Membership for one year
- Welcome to App Store Connect
- Welcome to the Apple Developer Program
- You've enabled automatic renewal for your developer program membership
Wait, do you mean your membership is showing pending? Or you're notarising something and it's showing pending?
-
@dannytaurus Thanks Danny
Under my name in account, It says pending, and options are still not enabled for me.payment done.
but still nothing, I'm signed from Italy -
@ILIAM Have you received any emails at all from Apple about the developer account?
