Mac Os Export confusion
-
So I successfully exported a vst3 on windows of a nice simple project just to see how it worked and check that things came out how I wanted no issues.
I'm now trying to export on mac and when I selected the VSTi and Aui options I get a clear file where I would expect for the vst3 but I don't seem to get the .component file appear anywhere in the project folders or in the expected system path.
The export isn't failing but I'm not seeing why at all I can't see the component! Once again I suspect I've missed something!

@JamesC If you're on a pre-Sonoma OS then the plugin files will have been placed in the correct locations for plugins on your OS and you'll see alias files in the project's Binaries folder. You can right click on these and select "Show Original" to see the plugin files.

@d-healey thanks for this yes I saw the message in HISE to do with this I'm not I'm currently on Sequoia 15.6 which is why its not making sense to me
-
@JamesC Can you show a screenshot of the files you are seeing?
-
@d-healey Sure thanks for taking the time
-
@JamesC Did you use the export wizard?
-
@JamesC Yes all of that setup and ticked off etc and HISE compiled following instructions etc which is why I can't understand what's going on
-
@JamesC I've found the wizard works well on Windows, but not so much on other systems. Use one of the Export As options instead.
-
@d-healey Yes so I tried to do it that way also and exactly the same thing even if I clear the build folder and just run the AUi export I don't see any file produced anywhere
-
@JamesC Have you built HISE from source on your Mac?
-
@d-healey Yes I did and compiled ok perhaps its a case of attempting to clean everything off and re-compliling?
-
@JamesC said in Mac Os Export confusion:
clean everything off and re-compliling?
What is everything?
-
@d-healey just remove all aspects I installed. If its worth anything the vst3 it exports runs like a dream I ported it over to the windows machine to see what it would do and that's properly running etc

If you installed a prebuilt version of HISE you should remove that, and if you have more than one copy of the source code then you should remove them all and start over.
But if you just have one copy of the source you're good.

@d-healey thanks for advice will approach with fresh head and eyes tomorrow I think!
-
@JamesC So it seems in PROJUCER the mac message about paths that has come up a fair bit may have been in the issue, rather than pressing ignore as many of the froum posts suggested I manually pointed things to what it already said and was able to export an AU version this morning!
Thanks for advice yesterday
