[REQUEST] Audio Input Support & Standalone FX Export in HISE
-
Hi HISE Team,
I’d like to respectfully inquire whether audio input support and standalone FX plugin exporting could be prioritized for implementation in upcoming HISE updates.
After exporting standalone versions of my guitar FX plugins, I’ve noticed that no audio inputs are detected within the generated applications. This renders the standalone builds unusable for real-time processing, as instruments cannot be routed through the plugins.
There is a growing demand for direct hardware integration in the music technology space. Many users now prefer running standalone FX apps (e.g., guitar amp simulators) by connecting instruments directly to audio interfaces, bypassing DAW environments entirely. Companies like BIAS FX, Overloud, and Neural DSP have successfully implemented this workflow, demonstrating both technical feasibility and commercial viability.
Enabling these capabilities in HISE would align with industry-standard practices for real-time FX processing.
Would appreciate any insights regarding the development timeline or potential workarounds. Thank you for your continued work on this exceptional framework!

@Sawatakashi if standalone inputs were possible, I see how you could ship a standalone HISE app to an embedded Linux device and pack it all into a pedal or a rack device.
