Synthesiser Group and independent gain

Is there a way to keep independent control of each synth gain within a synth group via Simple Gain?
I can't figure it out since we are not allowed to add FX on a synth that is inside a group

1.) change the gain of the module itself. Will
introduce zipping noises if modulated
2. add gain modulators. Better but you need to think in a 0...1 range instead of decibels.

@Christoph-Hart The gain modulator of course.... Guess I'm tired

I didn't want the direct gain control for the glitch issues you mentioned... However, is it a viable option for connecting a knob with no modulation?
