RE: Is hise good for a midi sequencer?
@d-healey said in Is hise good for a midi sequencer?:

is it doable? with precise timing?
Yes I think so.
My first recommendation would be to use the MIDI player module, but according to the docs it doesn't support CCs. So you might need to roll your own system. Or ask Christoph to add CC support.
thanks i will try that

RE: Is hise good for a midi sequencer?
@d-healey the gui is not my concern right now.
think of what i want as a midi tape recorder. only notes and basic ccs.
no sysex, no after touch, no mpe, nothing but regular ccs and notes.
is it doable? with precise timing? -
RE: Is hise good for a midi sequencer?
@d-healey basically it only needs to play sequences of notes and cc's with a precise enough timing.
-
RE: Is hise good for a midi sequencer?
@d-healey because of the workflow, i have a particular workflow in mind.
i dont like piano rolls. -
RE: Is hise good for a midi sequencer?
@d-healey actually you got me thinking, what would be the actual limitations of creating a midi sequencer plugin that runs exclusively inside a daw?
-
RE: Is hise good for a midi sequencer?
@d-healey said in Is hise good for a midi sequencer?:
@octaviu555 The timing is fine (there is a limited built in MIDI sequencer). But whether or not HISE is the right tool depends on what features you want your sequencer to have.
If you're planning to make a DAW then HISE is definitely not the tool, but if you want a drum sequencer, word-builder, strum-pattern sequencer, then HISE will have the features you need.
Greg recently made a proof of concept piano roll you might want to take a look at - https://forum.hise.audio/topic/12030/piano-roll-ui-component/17
I only want to build a midi sequencing plugin, i can run inside my daw.
would timing be a concern like that?
