Celemony releases code for ARA, the technology that connects plugins and DAWs in depth
Celemony has released its ARA (Audio Random Access) technology under open source code.
ARA is a set of programming tools that can be implemented in both DAWs and plug-ins to communicate in deeper ways. The most popular use - which is in fact the raison d'être of the technology - is in Melodyne, where it was previously necessary to pre-record the audio to be processed. With ARA, this was eliminated as it allows immediate analysis of the audio material within a given track.ARA started with PreSonus and was initially implemented in Studio One, although its SDK later appeared in the algorithms of DAWs such as Cubase, Reaper, Logic Pro, Samplitude, among others. ARA collects information such as pitch, notes, chords, tempos, location of events within the timeline, etc. on the fly. In this way, it is possible to edit these audio characteristics and have them updated in real time with DAW playback.
