Solved Hise Crash when compiling Faust node
-
Hello everyone.
Faust makes Hise crashing everytime I compile a faust node. Before, I had a simple windows computer so I thought that the crash was due to the fact that the computer couldnt handle the whole compilation process.
So I bought a new windows computer. however the problem is still the same.
Any ideas please?
Thanks

@Sawer I didn't encouter general problems due to the compilation of Faust nodes, neither on windows nor on Linux.
Maybe you can describe the process you are going a bit more detailed and post the Faust script you are trying to compile. -
@toxonic thanks for replying.
So I'm a mac user and everything works there.
However, With the previous Windows computer, I've installed the new version of Hise + the latest version of Faust which caused crashes when compiling.
Done the same thing with this new computer and the same problem happens. I'll make sure to load a screen recording gif to show what's happening.

So, is it that the new version of Faust (probably 1 max 2 weeks recent) causing this issue?
-
Or is the code in the editor having some faults that when compiling cause crashing?

Here is a simple Video showing how loading a faust empty file makes Hise crash.

@toxonic What Version of Hise do you have ? Maybe is the 3.0.1 Version causing these problems..
-
@Sawer perhaps load a new file? not one thats - probably - got some code error in it?
-
@Lindon No. By switching to Hise 3.0.0 everything is workig smoothly. Maybe the new version has a kind of bug.
The problem has been partially solved tho. Wondering if anyone has encountered the same issue on windows with the recent version of Hise.
Anyway, thanks for your reply!

Have you tried the latest version of HISE?

@d-healey Yes, and it was not working here. By switching to the previous version however, It works now.

@Sawer The next stage then is to find out at which commit the problem was introduced and create a bug report.
