Debugging... How?
-
I'd like to do some debugging... I don't know how.
I'll start on OSX. Do I need to build HISE in a different way? Do I need to build my plugin in a different way too?
Thanks!

@DanH What do you want to debug? HISE or your project?
-
@d-healey my project
-
@DanH Debug it as standalone, unless there is some specific reason why you need to debug it as a plugin. Debugging as standalone rules out any interference from the plugin host.
Clean the build directory and select build for running in XCode in order to build a debug build. I haven't done debugging in xcode before but there should be an option to run the binary once it's built from within xcode which will output issues to the console.

@d-healey ok so I build the debug (‘running’) version of HISE. run HISE in Xcode. Open my project….. and any errors should be outputted to the console?
-
@DanH No need to build the debug version of HISE, just build your project as a standalone.
What aspects are you trying to debug though because if it's just script issues I don't think a debug build will help.

@d-healey Well I'm interested to see if it throws anything up, but recently, comboboxes have stopped working in my HISE project (they work in compiled plugin). They snap back to the root value when selecting anything from the list. Wondering if debugging might highlight an error that isn't appearing in the HISE console...

@d-healey So how do I build my HISE project from within Xcode...?
-
@DanH Try isolating the problem in a separate project.

@DanH said in Debugging... How?:

HISE should generate an xcode file in the binaries folder when you export.
