Effects Degrade & Limiter

I've been exploring the effect modules last couple of days and have noticed that both Degrade and Limiter are unstable.
When using getAttribute you get a lot of strange values that not equals the values I manually set to them.

Also setting the values manually are a bit unpredictable
Is it recommended not to use those modules?

@ulrik - yeah degrade should be avoided - and use the limiter in the dynamics plugin.
