I will now reduce it to 2 again.

the golden rule is: only one instance of HISE on a machine at any given time....

HISE source code or HISE app???

I have one HISE source code folder (and use git to switch branches) but have 2-3 compiles. Master, dev, etc...

@d-healey I'll have a look at it - so far I haven't found a connection to it. Thanks

In the last 35 years I have never had a programm that crashes as often as HISE.
HISE crashes at the slightest change of a number and subsequent compile.
Every error leads to a crash instead of a message in the console.
No matter which version on Scriptnode, Master or Develop.

                Am I the only one?

                Mac 10.14.6
                Xcode 10.3

I'm on macOS 10.15.7 and also experience the occasional crash... But I'm on the develop branch at the moment, so... I try to be clever with source code, coding, not making stupid things, etc. but I do get a feeling that windows might have a little edge here?!

Really it should be both because, for example, trying to compile a plugin developed in a master branch executable using the source code of the develop branch would likely cause problems.

Sure... I normally re-compile when switching branches... Sometimes I quickly use the HISE master to check something but still being in the develop branch... so... but you say best would be one branch at a time, one HISE version at a time? What about copies of the same HISE app? To check code, etc.

                      @UrsBollhalder One branch, one executable.

                      To check code, etc.

@d-healey Loading snippets, loading scripts and test-instruments I made earlier to put into my current project... so I can have 2 HISE apps open at the same time....

@UrsBollhalder You can open multiple instances of HISE with a single executable.

By default the Mac OS supports running one instance of a program at a time in a specific user account; however, if more than one instance of a program is needed, then you can have the system launch it.

@UrsBollhalder I also used one copy of a branch at a time to load and view snippets while my
                                original is open.

I don't have 6 different HISE versions but only 3 at the moment but each 2 times.
                                Once to work with and
once as a test for snippets and scripts
