Unable to Compile AU for Mac
-
@d-healey I mentioned earlier in another post... the default projucer that comes with HISE doesn't work....So I need to use JUCE 6.
Mac is useless(Sorry who love Apple).. I must say... I have taken mac to compile Au plugins.. First I had trouble to get Compiled. By @orange and @Rudra-Ghosh grace somehow I managed to compile HISE. Now Getting stupid error. And if I search for the error on Google no help. Even Apple support is worse.
-
@ospfeigrp I don't know mate.. After two weeks I'm trying to build Au plugins. But no Luck. So I am using Juce 6 (that has Nice Made with JUCE Splash Screen). Still no luck.

@ospfeigrp said in Unable to Compile AU for Mac:
did projucer 5 that's bundled work at all because I have a very similar setup here with Catalina and Xcode 10.1 ,Projucer 5 won't open at all.. so I used version 6.
@Tania-Ghosh said in Unable to Compile AU for Mac:

The Projucer binary that comes with HISE appears not to work on some installations. However HISE comes with the JUCE 5 source code, so you can build a working version of Projucer from that, you don't need to use JUCE 6 (although apparently it works).
-
@d-healey I tried to compile JUCE 5 from the source code...didn't work either..
-
@Tania-Ghosh if you right click on the error and show as log it will say it a QuickTime framework problem, if you go to general and remove the framework QuickTime it should build no problem. let me know how you get on.
-
@ospfeigrp OK...Cool...Now it's 10:54 p.m in India. I will try it tomorrow...and will let you know... :)
-
@ospfeigrp What to do next?
-
@Tania-Ghosh reveal in log and then general at the top and click on quicktime framework and delete it with the "-" button
-
@ospfeigrp Thank you so much :) ... Projucer built successfully... Now I will give it a try to Compile AU plugins with the default Projucer 5.4 that comes with HISE.
-
@ospfeigrp @d-healey After 7days AU plugins still not working...Unable to compile
Tried Projucer that comes with HISE. Tried Xcode 10 and 11... Tried every thing but ...No luck.
I'm totally frustrated and exhausted. A guy recently posted "Starting to use HISE is one of the biggest pains in the neck I've ever had"For me it's like "Starting to build AU plugins for MAC platform is one of the biggest pains in the neck I've ever had"..
Ridiculous amount of time and Concentration invested no out come.

@Tania-Ghosh Have you searched the internet for the phrase "bad CPU type in executable"?
-
@d-healey Found this...https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208050
But Xcode is still getting irritated.. -
Even JUCE user having same issues...

-
Try changing the default shell https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208050
-
@Tania-Ghosh open your terminal an try copy-pasting this
sudo xcode-select -switch /Applications/Xcode.app/
-
@hisefilo Ok.... will let you know further.
-
@Tania-Ghosh a quick search of the forum revels this : https://forum.hise.audio/topic/2600/macos-catalina-rez-error-bad-cpu-type-in-executable
it solved my problems with xcode 10 on catalina

@ospfeigrp The post Didn't clear me. So what do I do? what to copy and replace from Xcode12.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/Rez. ?
Can you demonstrate a little? in my XCODE.app (show package content) 10 there is no Rez folder. If I do wrong it will be a total mess. So can you help me? as I'm a new Mac user.
-
@Tania-Ghosh delete 'Rez' and 'Res merger' from Xcode10
then show contents of xcode12 and copy 'Rez' and Res merger' files and then back in xcode10 show contents and contents/Developer/usr/bin and paste the two files you just copy from Xcode 12should be good to go then

@ospfeigrp Yeeeepieeee.....Compiled successfully. Uffff... what a Relief you can't imagine. My brother @Rudra-Ghosh gifted me Mac Air. Now I will make him proud. @ospfeigrp thank you so much.
One last question...Do I need to codesign? Because If I codesign it's throwing error. Without codesign it has been compiled.Finally...in logic..
Thanks @tompower and @imagiro for the post
