Internet Pop up

I am going to ask a question but which probably must be impossible .... imagine a vst with a central screen where the user can choose his presets. ok .. is it possible, remotely, to send some sort of notification or pop up in the vst to warn of an update or a possible new soundbank? I imagine the vst connected to the internet with a panel which reviews information from a server for example .. I dream a little too much? ^^
