I'll add that (it's not totally trivial because xml files are also used for other purposes, but I can add further safe checks to prevent dropping the wrong XML files to the samplemap.

Fixed. You can drag them now like samples. Also, space opens a preview for scripts and images (not actually related but I had a FileBrowser do-over urge :)
