HISE tutorial course
-
I've been thinking of making a HISE tutorial series, as I did for Kontakt, and wondering if there is any interest in it. I already have the Patreon page and YouTube tutorials, and a dedicated course would cover some of the same ground but in a more structured way. What do you guys think, worth doing?
-
@d-healey more documentation could never be a bad thing. Great idea!
-
Would be ace!
-
@d-healey I think scope should be "How to create virtual instruments from scratch. (featuring Hise) " rather than Hise tutorial.
just my two cents -
@hisefilo That's pretty much my idea, showing projects from start to finish. I'll be providing demo files (samples, IRs, graphics, etc.) for the projects as well. I thought I might do one where I take a Kontakt project and convert it to a HISE project.
-
@d-healey sounds like a product. Maybe paid video course + assets + 5 hours of online support for those willing to get into VI development
-
I think it would be extremely useful. I'm already subscribed to your Patreon page, but a more "in depth" series would be really welcome!
-
Yes please!!!!
-
This would be a really great resource! Your other videos are very well structured and informational. I would love to see this happen!

Yeah sounds good, I also like @hisefilo's ideas. If it were labeled "How to create cross platform virtual instruments from scratch (featuring HISE)" or something similar, it could potentially draw in a larger group of people that are interested in VST and app development. And if it was very well thought out and well done and you provided support in the process that would be for sure something I think myself and others would pay for. You could maybe do the first intro project tutorial for free on youtube, and then potentially offer access to more advanced lessons and support as a paid product if the price is reasonable.
-
I also like the idea of more advanced classes that begin to touch on FX development and even some simple custom DSP or synthesis. I know I would be super into that and I am certain there are others like me that would really benefit from the ease of exploration and experimentation that HISE provides and its extensibility in various ways through JUCE, or how to develop custom UI objects inside HISE as well as with other tools.
-
Yes, no doubt :)

@MacroMachines this kadenze https://www.kadenze.com/programs/20 course is pretty cool for learning JUCE, the basic starting and getting a DSP plugin going one is mostly free, worth taking a look at as a reference for how to edit and get a nice looking course going. If you were wanting to make a paid course and have some nice production value I would be willing to help a bit in making some motiongraphics intro or stills to edit in with key points or something. It for sure helps the way they edited these in keeping the energy going, they cut from the computer to the guy explaining the process and back to pace the edit.
-
@MacroMachines and on the advanced topic, I am very curious about the scriptnode and if anyone has used it to make any custom DSP yet.. that would somewhat negate my need to learn JUCE to extend the HISE functionality.
-
@MacroMachines Agreed , I am super interested in the scriptnode funtionality.
-
Yes please, that would be nice
