what build of hise and IPP are people using to have working convolution....as ive stated mines broken.

@d-healey just got this error when compiling 32 bit FX from hise
Well you followed my instructions and only installed the 64bit IPP :p If you want 32bit you'll need those libraries - who's using 32bit?
-
yes but regardless even with 64bit i got the same terrible sound. i have a bypass for the IR on the gui and when i switch it off it goes away. ive also tested tons of different IRs so its not that. now there must be something that got installed from auto windows update that is causing the problem. like i said once when i tried to uninstall IPP it hung for like an hour saying it couldnt because it was being used by
mspdbsrv.exethis is a production machine only maschine cubase studio one on here. plugins etc install alot of distributables as well
i tried with multiple audio interfaces...different buffer settings...sample rates...nothing changes it. when IPP is being used it makes a distorted digitzed sound
-
Does this happen inside HISE or only in an exported plugin?
-
@d-healey both
-
@mwplugs I'm going to test mine with the impulse you posted earlier. Tell me the exact setup you're using to test, how many samplers/wave generators, where in the chain is the convo reverb positioned, etc? or better yet post a snippet of the simplest example that demonstrates the issue.
-
i just found out something. apparently it doesnt make the noise at 96khz :/
-
all other samplerates below that it does
-
@mwplugs What sample rate is your IR?
-
ah so its 96khz. thats weird. when i used my IRS before it didnt do this at different samplerates. ok
so i have to make an array that chooses the correct samplerate based on what it is being used in..how do i do so
-
or i wonder i making them at 44.1 will rates higher not be affected im gonna check
-
no they were 24 48 IRs
-
mic-0_dc.wav heres one @d-healey
-
ok so i just made a 24 44 version and it did the same thing...distorted at every sample rate but 96. im gonna try a 16 bitmic-0db_dc.wav
-
And what's the project setup?
-
thats what i was saying im changing the sample rate of the HISE and daw projects and its working perfect and 96khz for every type of IR but anything different then 96khz project sample rate then regardless of the IR samplerate its distorted..they are 24 bit so im gonna try 16
-
its seems its related to bit depths of the IR
-
ALRIGHT!
so basically i figured it out. every bit depth and sample rate other than 16 bit 44.1khz either has different responses or phase issues and or distortion with the convolution.
basically if you use 16 bit 44.1khz it works fine at all samplerates and bit depths
-
@d-healey NEVERMIND!! it still does the exact same thing at all samplerates on compiled plugins. just not within HISE ughhhhhhhhhhh

just tested more. it seems to work perfect at samplerates other than 44.1 and 48khz. 88 and 96 work. oh and this is occuring with ONLY one convolution directly on the main container in FX. nothing else at all in the prject except for a gui with a waveform connected to the convoltion plugin
