Performance on Retina screen

I noticed when I workin on MacBook Pro screen I have issue with GUI performance, everything Is laggy and slow but when I connecting external monitor with 2560x1080 everything work smooth. This happening only when I workin in hise.

What size is your MacBook? I’m working on a 12” MacBook every now and then, haven’t experienced any lag or slow down. And that thing is anything but powerful btw
