Syncing/Time stretching via Sampler

Is it possible to code a function which would allow a Sampler to be synced to a host?
For example if one of my Samplemaps file is a "Drum sample"... dont want to loop it, but would like for it to be synced to the host..

Is it possible? could something like

Engine.getQuarterBeatsForSamples() or Engine.getHostBpm()

be used in the script processor to accomplish this?
