Switch LFO between TempoSync and Frequency

I need a toggle to switch the LFO rate between tempo-synced and frequency-based.

Is it better to use 2 knobs, one set up for each type, and switch the visibility of them?

Or use one knob and set/reset all the knob params like min, max, middle, step and suffix?

I'm fine with scripting. I just wondered what the convention is.

EDIT: and how do each of these options work when recalling presets, and for automation?
