Rhapsody's (Libre Wave) licensing system
-
Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you very much to all the users in this community — I’ve learned a lot just by reading through the various topics.
I'm now interested in selling my instruments using Rhapsody, and I'd like to understand how the licensing system works.
I'm pretty sure @d-healey is the right person to ask, but I’d also love to read any comments from people with experience on this topic
Thanks in advance!

@Daniel-Y The instrument should be released under the GNU GPL, with the samples under some kind of liberal license like Creative Commons. You need to provide the HISE project folder (without the binaries, Samples, Pooled Resources) to anyone who you distribute the instrument to.

I'm sorry, English is not my native language. My question was about the serial numbers needed to activate the instruments — is there a predefined method for this? Would I need to generate the serials myself? That kind of thing.
At the moment, I don’t have an activation system for my instrument, and I’m a bit lost on that topic for now.

@Daniel-Y There is no activation system as such, the instruments are open source so there is no purpose in trying to restrict them.
For my website I have a license system to control access to downloads, and this integrates with Rhapsody, but it only works for instruments that are hosted on my website.
